Suggestion or recommendation about the survey topic
Although a part-time job assists international students in getting more practical knowledge as well as experiences, they are facing more problems while doing part-time jobs. Moreover, based on the result of our survey, we found more evidence that part-time jobs lead to the risk of doing part-time jobs illegally and an unbalance between work and study. Therefore, as for solving the problems, this essay will suggest two ways for international students need to do, including checking the minimum wage and taxes, and planning schedule appropriately.
First of all, checking the minimum wages and taxes is important things for international students to do legal part-time jobs. Most international students obviously know that it is illegal to do part-time jobs without taxes but they do not have opportunities to do their jobs as legal employees. The reason is, in fact, that most owner restaurants do not want to pay tax for authorities so they only offer their worker under $17 per hour by cash in hand according to Nguyen and Nguyen (2017). From this trend, you must only apply for a part-time job in a restaurant where you an employer offer tax file numbers. Moreover, before working as a beginner, you need to ask your employer about your wages per hour in order to ensure that you will be paid around $17 per hour. Therefore, you probably work legal part-time jobs.
Lastly, in general, in order to balance between work and study, planning a schedule appropriately is an effective way for international students need to concentrate on. For example, instead of spending too much time on work and lacking time to study, you could plan a schedule appropriately for yourself by many steps. At the first stage, you have to create a new schedule by taking notes how much time to spend on assignments and how many days per week to attend school. At the following stage, you need to ensure when you will certainly do part-time jobs and then talk to your employer. As a result, with the schedule, you could have enough time to study as well as part-time jobs.
To sum up, part-time jobs bring advantages and disadvantages to international students. However, based on the result of our survey, more drawbacks instead of benefits have been coming to overseas students. Therefore, the good way for international students to tackle the problems of the part-time job is planning schedules appropriately and checking the minimum wages and the taxes. As a result, they could work part-time jobs legally, and balance between study and part-time jobs.
A very good discussion! Well done. *I would recommend more practice with countable/uncountable nouns. For example; knowledge is uncountable. We don't say "knowledges."
ReplyDeleteThe other suggestion is to avoid personal pronouns (I, you, me, we) in academic writing and nominalise and refer to the subjects directly; "students" or "participants" or "candidates" etc.
Thank you
